James Taylor, How Sweet It Is
Wow, all that hair! The last time I saw him (on Colbert) he was pretty much bald, and dressed like a banker. Even so, he rocked Road Runner (in his navy blue pin stripes).
I searched for that performance, but the Colbert Nation website has removed it (and you have to sit through a commercial before they reveal that disappointing fact).

The Farmer and the Cowman Should Be Friends, from Oklahoma!
For some reason this has been cycling through my head this afternoon.

Love this song! Every time I get into a situation with a staff member who brings out their "my time is so much more valuable than yours" attitude I think of that line.... 'but I'll be danged if I ain't just as good!' It makes me feel better (until I realize I've just said I'm as good as the 40 year old whining in front of me.)

Oh, Ladies!!!
IMHO, we were destined to live within coffee sippin' distance of each other, and somebody moved the map.
Our "What In The Ron Hale Psyches" would LOVE a <sit down> to "take a load off a spell"...

{{Our "What In The Ron Hale Psyches"}}
LOL! I read this as "What In The Ron Hale PSYCHICS" and sprayed tea over everything. (Of course, we do seem to read each others' minds on a pretty regular basis..............)
The Ron Hale Psychics: sounds like a new show on The Biography or SYFY Channel where they tell you in advance what will happen on your favorite show.

OR...
The Ron Hale Psyches could make a GREAT name for a band! OR... a tee shirt slogan that would make everyone wonder, "What the Ron Hale does THAT mean???"
I wonder what the Ron Hale Ron Hale would need to be dealt in on this deal...

Marianne, my friend Amy had told me this was her favorite song, her theme song, if you will. She had a very lavish (seven bridal attendants in matching dusky-blue gowns) THIRD wedding in a church filled with 1000 guests and wore a $4000 white beaded gown. There was a full choir in the balcony, and unbeknownst to the guests, a rock guitarist. At the end of the ceremony the bridal couple turned to exit the church, and this song was the recessional. The arrangement they used was only the choir at the beginning and it had such a religious tone that it seemed perfectly appropriate, so no one caught on. Except me. And I thought, Holy crap! I cannot believe she is doing this! Then the guitarist/lead vocalist started and the crowd realized what was going on. I think somewhere in the chorus the words included "Amy finally got what she wants."
The first conversation you and I had was when I made a comment here about multiple marriages and how reality was much more bizarre than anything soap writers spun. You thought I was being judgmental about anyone divorced. I was not. I was sitting here, shaking my head as I typed, and thinking about my friend Amy.
And as a postscript, the third time seems to be the charm for her.
Reality is just really, really crazy.

I adore Paul Henreid! He was so wonderful in this movie (and all the others he was ever in.) You couldn't hate him even though you wanted his wife to leave him. No easy feat.
OBM, can I be the keyboardist in The Ron Hale Pysches? Pretty please? (Although I'm a little worried Mr. Hale might think we're the Ron Hale Psychos instead. ;o) I can help with the arrangements, too.
Of course we will need T shirts! And mugs and refrigerator magnets and pens and pop can cosies and bobble heads. This is serious business, after all.
