C'mon! Let's hear some reviews for the 1976 movie 'Feelin Up' starring MG, Kathy Seward, and Rhonda Hansome. I am somewhat surprised though, that RH, still hired him after that acting job. I also wasn't able to figure out, was this suppose to be a comedy?

I am somewhat surprised though, that RH, still hired him after that acting job. It wasn't easy to judge his acting ability, however, I don't think anyone would have expected him to be Laurence Olivier in a movie like this. The film was definitely not my type of movie. LOL! Have you seen the 2005 documentary on David Secter? Malcolm is in it, briefly, making a few comments and there is a little movie footage and behind the scenes stuff he is in. Malcolm said he and Kathleen became involved. On the Soapnet forum, posters said they were still involved when he first began on Ryan's Hope. You have to click to watch it on Youtube Getting Together/Feelin' Up story begins at about the 20:00 mark. 2005 Malcolm is seen at approx. 29:20 and 30:24

Thanks so much for downloading the David Secter documentary. I tried in vain to locate this online. MG had given an interview to a reporter back in '75. He divulged his girlfriend was aptly named only "Kathy." He would not reveal her last name at the time. I kind of just figured, after watching this movie, he was referring to Kathy Seward. Ms. Seward was "Shelia." He also revealed that he had co-habituated with a female, but not for financial reasons. Again, this may have been "Shelia" in the movie. Because Mr. Secter had prodded MG to "get close" to his subject." David also said, Kathy was "up and coming" and had "aspired" to become an actress. Just as MG had said of his friend. So, there you have it. The "mystery" woman was Ms. Seward. As far as MG's acting ability goes. I would never had believed, I was watching Dr. Pat Ryan in "Feelin Up.' I will give him credit for that. He sure fooled me.

Have you visited his FB page? He recently laments, that FB did not remember his birthday. Instead, he had to share his date with another person, that he knows.
Well, MG, you should have stayed with your craft. This was a wake-up call, he is no longer famous anymore.

i was just so upset, after I purchased a home DVD of 'Opposite Sex' that MG was no where to be seen, after he was credited for acting in the movie.

Yes, indeed, that's what I eventually found out, but it was too late. Had I known, I would not have purchased the film. I felt the characterization of him was misleading. To tell you the truth, he was not listed as playing any character. So, I may have mislead myself.

Malcolm was a "military brat." His dad a former Colonel for the Marines.
Malcolm was drafted, at age eighteen. He did not want to be in the military. His dad wrote a letter to the unit, not to draft his son.
The military draft board ignored his dad's request.
MG failed his physical. He didn't say why, or which part of the exam. But MG was pleased.
MG did mention, he was upset about having to move from place to place, because of the dad's deployment. And for that reason, he often felt isolated and insecure.
MG also claims, his dad had no problems with his resisting the military. In fact, MG was so upset about the possibility of him being drafted, jail was the option, he would have preferred.
When asked why, he said, "he didn't like killing anyone."

MG's mother, Jane Murray Groome, expired February 14, 2020, just three days passed her 97th birthday.
Would have probably been nice, had she lived to be 100. But she did not.
If interested, Google, Jane Murray Groome, of Wilmington, NC, and read her complete obituary.
When you see her photo, note the resemblance to MG.
I also could not help but notice, her religious preference, was quite different from the way MG, went into detail to an interviewer. some time back.

MG's mother, Jane Murray Groome, expired February 14, 2020, just three days passed her 97th birthday. Sounded like she lived a very full life. Deepest sympathy to Malcolm and his family.

On April 4, 2020, Roger Couch Groome, possibly a first cousin of Malcolm, passed away. He was born in Burlington, NC., died in Montgomery Al. Private services were held April 11, 2020. As you recall, Malcolm went by the name "Roger," for an episode of the 'New Odd Couple,' sometime after departing the first time from Ryan's Hope. Groome was a Master Sergeant in the Air Force. Malcolm shunned the military. And unlike MG, Roger left behind a wife, three surviving children. A daughter that preceded him in death, and grandchildren.

For Mother's day MG posted on his FB page, one of the last times, he was with his mother, before she was to be sent to live in assisted living.
It appears MG was very close to his mother. and that he grieves, and misses her terribly.

You can't help but wonder though, how she feels for her daughters-in-laws. Nothing at all, apparently.

Can you say, if the actress in David Secter's movie, Kathleen Seward, is 76 years old?
