I call this game would you rather. The rules are simple. I will ask a question. The first person to answer gets to ask the next question. But try to wait a week before asking the next one so others get a chance to answer. But remember only the first person to answer gets to continue the game. All questions must pertain to Ryan's Hope in some way. When you give your answer explain why. OK, I'll start...
Would you rather eat at Ryan's Bar or Lem's Chinese Restaurant? And why?

Hey, Fia!
I like the idea of this game, but I am a bit dense. Is this the type of answer we're looking for?
When it comes to actually EATING, it would be Lem's all the way for me. We've seen so many Board Of Health violations in Ryan's kitchen, it boggles the mind - and the stomach! Not sure if even a cuppa joe from the urn would be safe, and don't get me started on the sandwiches left out all day. A shot of Johnny's best Irish would be the only safe thing to consume at Ryan's IMHO...

That's e-x-a-c-t-l-y the type of answer!

I am like Kathy, I have the urge to get Chinese take-out every time there is a scene at Lem's.

Well, I make my own sandwiches at home and have never really been into Irish cuisine-- and also never been a drinker (health issues) -- not to mention the airing of private Ryan family matters right there in the bar would make me uncomfortable.
So, it's Lem's!
What a lovely place to enjoy a meal with delicious food and a serene atmosphere.

For good food I'd definitely choose Lems.
But...
I'd love to visit Ryan's on a roarin' St. Paddy's Day. I'd dance with Pat and feed scraps to Finn under the table.
On second thought, no to the scraps. Finn might get sick.

plus . . . Finn would not fit under the table.

I do love chinese, but maeve is always making 'slaw' and potato salad, two of my absolute favorites. But i'd make her use vegan mayo.

So this is pretty close to a week, and I think I am supposed to ask the next question.
WOULD YOU RATHER be locked in Ryan's basement or be held captive in the hospital catacombs - and WHY.

Neither. I'm rather claustrophobic.

Well, if i was in the hospital basement maybe i could have saved "tweety," but finn seems to spend a lot of time in the ryan basement, at least in the beginning he did, so it's a tough call. You can find me wherever the birds and dogs are, i guess!

I guess it would depend on who is doing the holding. I wouldn't like being yelled at by Jack, but I certainly wouldn't be able to put up with Kreepy Kenneth. I guess I'd have to choose the basement. At least I wouldn't have any broken bones and there's food there. I'd make Jack a gourmet meal and hopefully that would shut his pie hole.
Susan, since you were the first to answer, you get to pose the next question. You don't have to wait a whole week, maybe just a few days to see if anyone else chimes in.

That room in the hospital sub-basement was just too creepy. Even with a fascinating cellmate, I cannot imagine ever being able to remain sane in that place.

So call me strange, but I thought the basement was rather romantic, or at least could be with the right partner. I liked the candle light and the tweety bird. Set up the table with a nice cloth and flowers, put on some good music, add a nice bottle of bubbly or wine, bring in some delectable food from Tiso's place. Yep, I could see it. As long as it was all clean and there were no bones in those drawers. I'm sure I'd like it better than the interns' quarters.

I have a question to pose; who would you rather be married to: Frank Ryan or Patrick Ryan and why?

GREAT question, IMHO

That is a great question! It would be hard to say no to DHK. And it would be equally hard to say no to Malcolm Groom. I like the soft gentleness of MG. But I also like the sex appeal of DHK. Actually, they are both sexy! I'm not going to answer this question because A) it's hard to choose and B) I want other peeps to chime in and ask the next question.

For the first time ever, I'd employ Delia be my life coach and marry each of them.
No, I think I'd go after Frank. DHK presents quite a charismatic figure despite his inclination toward gigantic bow ties with his formal wear.
(If we had to choose between Dr Dreamboat Cohen and Bucky Carter I'd have a hard time.)

Not a relationship or a fling - - but married to one of them, huh?
Both have appealing qualities and both have some not so appealing qualities
Frank and a public, flashier lifestyle vs. Pat and a quieter, simpler lifestyle
I would have said Frank in my early 20's -- but after some bad choices and some therapy - -I would have been more for Pat by my late 20's.
