forte said <<My folks are from Raleigh County.>> I lived in Beckley several years! Loved it! It was close enough to Charleston that I could visit my family easily. <<I went to a little white Church that looked just like the little white church they put on greeting cards.>> Oh, I wish I had a picture of the little church in Mole Hill. Same thing! It looked just like the greeting cards, a little white church, nestled in the green hills. I'd post a pic if I could find it among my 60+ albums! Sue Ellen This is so funny because I am obsessed with where my father is from, which happens to be New York City in the 1920s. Most of the landmarks of his life are gone, but I have found pictures of many of them online. I"ll post the link to the New York Public Library Digital Gallery. They have millions of pictures from all over the world. You can try searching for West Virginia, to see if maybe someone had done a photographic project of the area (as many photographers have done in New York.) I was trying to find some information about the apartment building in Connecticut where my mother grew up. I Googled the address, and then the real estate website Zillow came up. You can find out information about houses for sale, houses in foreclosure (many of the houses on her street, about 100 years old, are now in foreclosure.) There's a wealth of info online about the very tiny details of places in all our pasts.
