^ Not to mention that he is also teaching drama students, much like Sarah Felder does with her dialect work.

I've only seen two Pats, Malcom Groome and John Blazo. My favorite has to be Malcom. Loved the scenes where he takes off on Delia. I think Pat's tragic flaw is that he is very weak and Malcom Groome did an excellent job of playing a weak person who is still likeable. That can't be easy.
I've been trying to think of who John Blazo reminds me of and tonight it came to me: "Howard" on The Big Bang Theory, not so much because of how he looks but because of his mannerisms and the tentative, halting way he speaks.

The sweaters that John Blazo wears would have never been worn by Malcolm's Pat. The sweaters remind me of Mr. Rogers (from PBS)!

I agree about the sweaters. My strongest image of this Pat is a lanky guy in a v-neck sweater vest wearing a big class ring. (Not sure if he really does wear a class ring.)

I miss Malcome as Pat. He and Ilene had the Pat / Delia relationship hands down. Even though Delia was warped I still like them together. Pat really seemed to care about Dee. He also played the Faith relationship differently. Chemistry. Pat#2 is good though. Just different. Made the character different.

Yeah, Malcolm Groome's Pat wore textured sweaters and he also wore sweater vests. The (class) ring was worn by his Pat too -- the last time I recall him wearing it was early 1977

Since Malcolm had grown tired of playing nice guy Pat and that he felt Pat was changed and made too close to his own personality (and he wanted to play roles different from Pat/himself) -- maybe he would have liked the changes that people see in John Blazo's Pat.

Malcolm Groome really conveyed a sense that he truly cared for the people around him. I think that is the essence of Pat and that is why he is my favorite actor in that role.

Yes, he was always a champion of the underdog.

I agree that Malcolm Groome is my favorite RH actor of all time.

It's sad that neither of them did more acting after RH, but MG seems happy with his life today, doing spiritual retreats and so on.

The first time I saw this pic of Malcolm, I did not know it was him. It still kinda freaks me out. Makes me think of a rastafarian mon. I know he's into religion, could this be it? rastafarian | | | Origins in Jamaca and deeply rooted in africa culture, this religion was the medium for those who opposed the oppression of Babylon, to speak out and live a rightious life as it is written, whilst beeing proud of their own roots and movements. Rasta eat a diet of veg fruit and fish, keep their bodies mind and sould healthy by staying active in global issues, and moving to brake the shackles of Babylons oppression. One method to this freedom is Ganja, which is believed to have gorwn on King Solomons' grave. Ganja lets the Rasta see what Babylon denies because of their greed and corruption. (Babylon refers directly to white oppression against the black ppl at the time of this movement; and now represents global oppression and repression). |
RASTAFARIAN | | | A common religion amongst black jamaicans that look up to the past Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie. One of their most famous acts is to smoke marijuana as a symbol of religious practice. To be rastafarian one doesn't have to be black in fact to be rastafarian it has to come from the heart. Another famous practice is that of dreads on their heart. |
And my favorite.rastafarian | | | Translates literally as "knows nothing about shampoo, employment or hygiene." |

Have you seen his FB page? He appears unkept. Disheveled. A little deranged. Unhappy. Sad.

The translation seems to fit. Have you seen his FB page. He looks like he doesn't wash his long hair. Doesn't shave. Looks stoned. Unhinged. He can easily be mistaken for a homeless man.
