While “Ryan's Hope” went on a two-week vacation hiatus from taping, Ilene Kristen (Delia Ryan) journeyed to Hollywood to check out possible nighttime TV and film projects. Ilene's contract with “RH” expires within the next year and if the actress can line up solid commitments in other fields, you can expect her to kiss “RH” goodbye.

Well, did this ever happen? Or did she have "delusions of grandeur" as her cohost, MG?

I can see how a young actor may feel that way - have big dreams and the courage to pursue it in a profession as tough as show business.
Plus, they have managers and agents telling them they will make them a star.
It's sad that Ilene never got that prime time comedic role she has always wanted--maybe it will still happen for her.

I don't understand why soap stars believe they can make it in prime time or on the big screen. They take their egotism a bit too far.
Their acting ability usually doesn't translate that far. They simply don't possess the skill, talent or most of all "swagger."
Most of these daytime actors and actresses are on a very limited scale.
Susan Lucci tried and for the most part was abysmal.
And last but not least, it makes no sense for daytime actors from NYC to come to Los Angeles, "searching for acting jobs," when there are already enough out-of-works actors and actresses, already looking for work. They just don't fit in.
