Can anyone point to a copy of an original SoapNet statement concerning the music rights issue and post 81 episodes not being rerun? Was that announced by a moderator on the old SoapNet boards or was it a written statement on the website?
Towards the end of the SoapNet run I noticed "Bette Davis Eyes" and a couple of Neil Diamond songs being played prominently, one Diamond song used as a Joe Novak music video of sorts. I know on the cobbled together post 81 compilations on YouTube there are several instances of pop songs being played. Huey Lewis comes to mind. This doesn't just pertain to vocal songs though. I also noticed when Pat and Amanda go to the posh restaurant Henry Mancini's "Dreamsville" (not the original recording) and a Muzak sounding "We've Only Just Begun" was playing instead of the usual RH background instrumental music.
PS I have no idea how to post any of the Carey Gold cues I've archived, otherwise I'd share them and some rare RH memorabilia if anyone could clue me in.

. Not sure about the official statement. When SoapNet rewound for the first time, they claimed there was a huge request to see the beginning again after a St. Patrick's Day Marathon of the first episodes. Since many cable services did not carry SN from it's premiere, many viewers did not have it to watch from the beginning, and that also given as another reason to rewind. The next rewind, a New York SN poster, Judy (she is fairplay on Youtube),actually called Claire Labine's number out of the phone book and talked to her. Claire was the first one who said it was music rights. After that, SoapNet said that was the reason, too.
