This little booklet came in the mail trying to sell me a bigger book. I was ready to buy the book, but found out it's part of a book club. No thanks. Anyway, I thought this was interesting for those of you with a deer problem.

Oops, that didn't work. Here's the recipe.
Puree at high speed in a blender: 2 raw eggs 2 cups of water 1 to 4 cloves of garlic 2 Tbsp hot sauce
Allow this tonic to sit, covered, for several days. Then pour or sprinkle the mixture over any and all vulnerable plants. Deer turn up their noses and eat out in someone else's back yard.
Diane, if you try this let me know if it works.

I guess I'm not awake yet. If you click the picture and then click it again, you'll be able to read the article.

Fia, I will definitely try this. It sounds a lot like one of the (expensive) repellants I have bought. The does are out foraging with the little ones now. I see them all along the road when I am driving. Fawns will eat anything, I think. This would be a great time to give them all a bad taste to discourage them.
What do your gophers do? Do they eat roots? I have mole tunnels all over my yard now, but I think they are just looking for grubs. Any damage to plants is "collateral."

I'll see if there was any advice in the little booklet about underground pests.
