Great minds . . . I have not tried spraying Listerine, but I also have not been stationary. I will try it when we have guests here the weekend of Sept 14.
Yesterday I did my regular thing and put fresh "mosquito dunks" into all of the pots of standing water. The story is that if you have goldfish in a body of water they eat the mosquito larvae before they can become biters.

I read some of the customer reviews. One guy said he put 2 of them on the table during a BBQ and there were no skeeters.

Those were some bad reviews over at Amazon. I'll reserve judgment until I use it myself. Deet is so stinky and chemically. I just spray it on my clothes, but it still stinks.

Fia,
The Off Clip Ons have worked very well for me - I put a few on tables or ground around my chair.
We have also used (store brand) Listerine in a spray bottle to spray around the patio area.
One year, Larry used a garlic spray which worked well but was labor/time intensive.
For whatever reason, I think Diane's buggers in the South may be a bit hardier than our West Coast/CNY buggers!!

I may give the Off clip ons a try. For sure I will try the Listerine approach. I bet that makes everything smell fresh!
