I'm fascinated by the fact that as the family discusses and dissects Delia's action in pushing Frank down the stairs, her coldness in walking away and leaving him for dead has barely drawn a mention. There are plenty of ways to look at the push itself -- Delia struck out in anger, she didn't really mean to do it -- that can be used to mitigate her guilt there.
But walking away and leaving him for dead, without so much as calling a doctor to take a look at him? It's a heck of a lot harder to explain that one away. No matter what else was going on, no matter what her fears were, whatever, whatever, whatever, her action in walking away and doing nothing to summon help is beyond the pale. Yet we hear nothing of that in this endless nattering about the revelation that she pushed him.

They do seem to be burying the headline, don't they? Maybe they don't want to think about it too much because then they'll have to remember how much they owe Roger for saving Frank's life.

Very interesting take on this issue Fortes.
No matter what the Ryan's think of Roger on a personal level, I would think that as Frank is their 'Golden Boy' and Roger did save his life, that they would be forever grateful to Roger. Hence, placing less judgment on his sometimes very questionable actions. At least Maeve, as it would be in her character imo, to see/look for the good in Roger, rather than to basically condemn him.

Yes! I've had that very same thought. Leaving Frank on the landing as she is the worst of it. And not a word is said about that.

Frank finally mentioned it in the custody hearing...and, I was thinking, "It's about time someone said it outloud!"

I thought he did when they had that big blow-up in the bedroom, when he reminded her that he was comforting her (meanwhile Frank was lying at the bottom of the stairs) or did I just add that in myself?

You are correct. I was thinking the same thing. Pat realizes the full extent of Dee's actions. It may not have sunk in yet for the others, because if it had, they would be talking about it.

I was thinking today that I'm glad they spared Father McShane from having to testify. I can see both parties pressuring him to take their side.

They simply can't stand the thought of Dee (and thus LJ) being with Roger. That's what drives (SPOILER) Pat's final rescue mission.

LJ had nothing to do with Pat's physical and emotional attraction to Dee he was a sucker thinking with his body part
I do not deny that LJ was what it was about for all other Ryans but Pat had other motives with Dee as well

I was also thinking the when she pushed Frank, she did what ever she could to hide it. She didn't do that with Jill. She had to tell the family because eventually, Jill would be found. Yet she still tried to blame Jill for the accident. As for Roger, his intentions are good, even if he is oily. Dee was the one who cried 'Rape', which could get Roger is a mess of legal trouble. He is the only one in Riverside who is good for Dee, he knows how to bring out the best in her and she can bring out the best in him.

As it turns out, I just watched the 6/13 episodes - and the second ep in particular makes it real clear that he has a deep visceral reaction to the thought of them together [and with his nephew] (driven, no doubt, by his sexual feelings for her - I don't disagree with that part either). My point, such as it is, is that it isn't *just* lust that drives him.

I found it interesting that Johnny testified that Dee was less than stellar as a parent - bringing home the 8 <death> pumpkins, not allowing LJ to be part of it while placating him with chocolate in a separate room - getting good ole Bob to finish carving while pressing him into last minute babysitting - and then COMING HOME DRUNK WITH ROGER
Why in the RonHale did THAT detail get left out, if you were going to the mat for custody??

Why in the RonHale did THAT detail get left out, if you were going to the mat for custody?? In fact, Johnny said that she went outside to watch the kids in costumes and forgot all about Little John. It was, what, a week later? Sometimes I think the writers don't remember what they've just written.

Sometimes I think the writers have an extra glass of wine with lunch. IMHO, those writers had a lot more lunches with wine than we know - bless'm all!

Really!
How often do we really get out to lunch (with a cocktail)??
I find on those occasions that I order every course offered and take home food for three days...
Give me a Puca! <up high, down low>
And now I want a stuffed shrimp on a skewer...
