Were you "hopeonarope" on the SN Board?
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
;-) Yes it's me. I stopped posting because I wanted to complete the series without reading any spoilers.

WOW!!
The "Elusive Ryan's Hope Purist"!!
I sooooooooo admire that (and watch your back - you may be victim to the random RH <reference> without the courtesy Spoiler Alert)
;-)

Nobody does spoiler alerts any more. We just blurt stuff out randomly and get booed (boohed?) if we are reluctant when asked to talk about what lies ahead. Marianne the Administrator, do we need to start the spoiler alerts again?

;-) I'm not worried about it now since I know just about the whole story and have seen pretty much everything that's available. Last night I started a spreadsheet in iWork laying out every Ryan's Hope story arc per episode in order to better visualize the writing style. The Soapnet recaps are essential for this although they are occasionally mistakenly duplicated. Unfortunately they end when Dee falls off the tower. Also, there used to be a yearly recap up somewhere that was pretty detailed but I can't find it anywhere. It was much better than the wikipedia entry. Which makes me think that there should be a full on Ryan's Hope Wiki rather than just an incomplete cast list, although what is up is helpful. i guess it's just a matter of taking the time to detail it. (I've also been compiling Carey Gold's cues since the Soapnet board days.)

Found it. It's at the end of act V of episode 654. A telephone # isn't in question, but rather the place of Alicia's previous employment. And it's a doozy.

That ep made me realize how much I miss Bucky. I wonder if he mispronounced that on purpose. I think Justin Deas already had a child at that time – seems like he would have been familiar with that abbreviation.

I think Justin Deas already had a child at that time – seems like he would have been familiar with that abbreviation. Miss Bucky, too -- and miss the hospital - -well, I miss the Neurology nurses station, medicine room, and staff lounge - - as a central location for characters to work and talk.
Yeah, he had to know how to pronounce it correctly - - and I doubt it was that way in the script. If Justin did that on purpose - - well then it took a lot of guts when so any actors said they were always afraid to mess up (unintentionally) and cost the show money to do a retake.
Maybe Justin was already past the point of caring about that.

If you listen closely, just before Roger walks up Bucky and the nurse are having a little giggle fest over a document and the illegibility/mispronunciation of Bucky's own name.
Personally, I was always fond of the Channel R set.

I always liked Jill's apartment; I could picture myself living there.

Maybe Justin was already past the point of caring about that.
This is an interesting situation, because if this is true then it means that while Deas was having his passive aggressive protest attempting to get out of a contract of which he most likely understood the terms when he signed, he was also willing to jeopardize the performance of Hale who apparently never wanted out of his contract, not to mention the productivity of the entire crew. All I know is had Nurse Ramona still been there she wouldn't have put up with his crap, and neither would her eyebrows. I'd rather chalk the blunder up to Bucky still being a new doctor, because I refuse to imagine a Carter behaving in such a reckless manner. Not my Buckingham/Buckminster. Not my Bucky. The hospital basement was pretty well done also.

This is years late. I was on the SoapNet Boards before this one. I really missed Ryan's Hope. I was so glad to find this board. I don't post a lot but I come on and read the posts from time to time. They still make me smile.

Another 4 years late comment but who can blame JD for wanting out? Bucky was such a boring character! After Bucky left, his Houseboat got more action than he did lol!

Amen to that. This board (and the one before that) have been the best online experiences I've had.

I think they missed out on some really interesting story lines when they didn't pay attention to Bucky. I can't say that I blame him for leaving, either. And since he was so popular on other shows, I think he made the right decision.
